Authentic Metro 2033 Gaming Experiece

When the game Metro 2033 was announced by THQ last fall, there were many who was thinkung that this has a lot of potential. The game is said to deliver a grim post-apocalyptic adventure set in the near future. That alone is something that immediately arouse interest, especially for those of us who loved the scenery in the game Fallout 3.

After a tremendous ecological disaster most of humanity is dead, but a few people have managed to survive in Moscow’s network of subways. The player takes on the role of one of the children, Artyom, who is born and raised underground and soon discovers that everything is not quite as it should be. And he must embark on a mission to warn the rest of humanity about a terrible threat.

In addition to what seems to be a very exciting story, the game can also delivers some very exciting environments and graphics.

The best news, at least for those who enjoy an authentic experience is that the developers recently announced on Twitter that “Metro 2033 will feature a Russian voice option, with subtitles, for maximum Russian-ness!”. They also Teeted that “you have the option to have ALL voices in Russian, including main characters. This is in addition to fully localised voice,” and that other language versions will be localised with their own subtitles and audible languages.

This is good news, considering that a lot of good games have been victim of bad translation or poor voice acting. So if you want the authentic expreience, set the game to Russian voices and English subtitles.

The game is due for release on March 19, currently for Xbox 360 and PC. Let’s hope for a PlayStation 3 version sometime in the future? Hopefully some time before 2033…
