Last April GameSpot announced that Bethesda and Obsidian Entertainment was working together to give us Fallout: New Vegas. And then there was silence…

Until now! Bethesda has finally broken the silence. This twitter message that was published yesterday tells to keep our eyes open for some news today.

Keep your eyes peeled for new stuff on #FalloutNewVegas tomorrow!

What we do know is that the game is not a direct sequel to Fallout 3. The scenario has been moved from the ruins of Washington DC to the ruins of Las Vegas instead.

Obsidian Entertainment, founded in 2003, has several employees in their staff with experience from the two earlier games from Interplay. Fallout: New Vegas will be using the Fallout 3 engine and I am looking forward to see how Las Vegas will look after it was flattened in the nuclear holocaust that preceded the original 1997 Fallout.

The studio has previously worked on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Neverwinter Nights 2 and at the moment they are in the developing stages of of the upcoming Alpha Protocol.

What we know so far is that Fallout: New Vegas will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime during 2010.

While we wait we might as well kick back with this Fallout 3 Video Review:
