Symantec has released a beta version of Norton Internet Security 2011, plus a variety of free tools.

Norton Internet Security 2011 is a complete security suite of antivirus, antispyware, antispam and firewall. The new version will, according to Symantec, be faster than previous versions.

Among the news this time is System Insight 2.0, which will be able to alert the user if some programs are using too much memory.

Another new feature is Download Insight 2.0, which scans files downloaded through the browser, email program or instant messaging programs.

Symantec also adds the following free tools:

Norton Safe Web Lite can be used to warn surfers of malicious web pages in search results.

Norton Power Eraser aims to remove malware that traditional security software fails to remove.

Norton Bootable Recovery Tool is a downloadable iso file that allows you to create a bootable CD/DVD or USB key that can be used to remove harmful programs.
