It seems increasingly likely that Apple will go for built-in camera in the next model of IPAD.

A job posting on Apple’s site seems to confirm the indication that we may see a built-in camera in the next model of iPad. The company is seeking an engineer to its iPad department with experience in digital photography (both still images as a video).

Here are the requirements listed in the job posting:

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience in Software QA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with Mac OSX, Unix, Xcode a plus.
Solid fundamental knowledge of software testing techniques, methodologies and practices.
Good solid knowledge of photography, various video and audio media formats.
Knowledgeable with lighting, whether artificial or ambient and how it affects image quality
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work accordingly.
Experience developing complete unit tests and C API tests desired.

The website 9to5mac speculate that one reason why the iPhone OS 4.0 is not coming to iPad until this autumn is that they wait for the next model of iPad. This would then be presented in connection with Apple’s annual iPod event (which is usually held in September).

It was previously
reported that even the iPod Touch will be equipped with a camera. It’s bound to happen, sooner or later, we’ll just have to wait and see.
