Prejudice that Mac users are not interested in games seems to have been crushed once and for all.

Valve’s new focus on games to the Mac platform seems to have been a huge success. Statistics from the first week shows that no less than eleven percent of the games sold on Steam is to Mac OS X. It is also noted that two thirds of Mac users run laptops and the Portal to Mac is only a fifth as crash-prone as the Portal to Windows.

The developers at Valve also promises also that they will move the gamefiles location from the “My Documents” folder to a Library folder in a future update. This is done by re requests from many of the new users.

In total there are now 88 games for Mac available on Steam. It includes, amongst others, Europa Universalis III, Hearts of Iron III and Killing Floor.
