Google has released a list of the thousand largest websites on the Internet. See who comes out on top.
Google’s ad service, Google Ad Planner, creates a list every month of the major sites on the internet. In April, Facebook in particular, has taken a giant leap upward. The list does not include Google’s own services such as its search engine, YouTube and Gmail.
Despite growing criticism about poor protection of the privacy of users, Facebook is now without doubt the largest website on the internet. In April, Facebook had 540 million unique visitors, which is equal to 35.2 percent of all internet users worldwide.
In second place we find Yahoo! with 490 million unique visitors in April. This is equal to 31.8 percent of all internet users worldwide.
