Stay alert when checking your emails, as hackers are abusing Twitter for phishing and trojan attacks.

Trend Micro warn on their blog against phishing attacks that are using Twitter. The email messages look very official, so a lot of people can be tricked by them.

The first email (see below) shows a phishing attack mounted against users, where you are asked to click a link to verify that you have changed your email.

The second email claims you need to download a module to secure your account, but in reality contains links to a malicious file detected as TROJ_FAKETWT.A.

In order to stay safe, make sure you have an updated antivirus program and never click on links you are not sure what contains.
