Justin Timberlake and Kevin Spacey are deeply involved in the movie about Facebook, which is coming to theaters this fall.

“The Social Network will probably be much more fun than people expect”, says Kevin Spacey. He is the producer of the film about Facebook, and he is not the only Hollywood star that is involved.

Pop star Justin Timberlake has a starring role as Sean Parker, who helped start Napster when he was 19 years old, and later became chairman of Facebook. The role of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is played by Jesse Eisenberg. He has previously held leading roles in films like “The Squid and The Whale” and “Zombie Land”.

Much of the movie is taking place at Harvard University where Facebook was conceived. According to early rumours, the movie will be about greed, obsession, unpredictability and sex.

– “even though I’ve gotten to be in some wonderful movies, this character seems so much more overtly insensitive in so many ways that seem more real to me in the best way. I don’t often get cast as insensitive people so it feels very comfortable: fresh and exciting, as if you never have to worry about the audience. Not that I worry about the audience anyway – it should be just the furthest thing from your mind. The Social Network is the biggest relief I’ve ever had in a movie”, Eisenberg said in a 2009 interview with the Baltimore Sun.

The movie is written by Aaron Sorkin, who is perhaps best known for writing the TV series “The West Wing”. He has also made the script for movies like “A Few Good Men” and “Charlie Wilson’s War”.

“You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies”
, is the slogan for the movie, which is in production at the moment. The movie is based on the book “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding Of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal,” which Ben Mezeich released last year. The movie premiers in the US in October.
