Intel has created a demo movie of the company’s new operating system for netbooks and handheld devices.

Meego is a new operating system based on a collaboration between Intel and Nokia. The new operating system is developed for use on portable devices such as mobile phones and netbooks.

Meego has several integrated features for social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. It also supports multi-tasking and multi-touch. The operating system exists only in an early alpha version, so far,  and it is not yet clear what features will be included in the finished version.

Meego was launched in February this year and is a merger of Intel’s Moblin and Nokia’s Maemo. According to Intel, the finished version of Meego will be released sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
