Apple has sent out the first beta version of iOS 4.1, with associated SDK, to registered developers.

According to the first user reports, Apple has changed the display of signal strength as promised, but there seems to be no improvement in reception as such. In other words, those who live in areas with poor reception, will still encounter dropped calls if you hold the iPhone 4 in the “wrong way”.
