The Linux distribution Mandriva Linux 2010 Spring is now available for download. After all the rumours about Mandriva, lately, this is good news for many of us.

After a period of rumours and speculation, Mandriva has now released the Linux distribution Mandriva Linux 2010 Spring.
Among the news in Mandriva Linux 2010 Spring, we find the the “smart desktop” enabling fast access to files by marking them with tags, or to rate them. The tool Ginkgo will make it easy to manage markup and grading.

For concerned parents there are tools that allow parents to lock the operating system. Parent Control also makes it possible to control what programs than can be accessed and which sites are approved.
Mandriva Linux 2010 Spring comes in three versions.
- Mandriva PowerPack, which cost 49 euro, and contains proprietary software.
- Mandriva One, an installable live CD, which can also be installed locally.
- Mandriva Free, which contains only free software.
Mandriva is in the process of reviewing the company and has issued a press release announcing that the company IF Research, the parent company of Wallix, will help Mandriva to get the company back on track.
