After many years of waiting and several delays, Sony tonight unveiled a final, concrete release date for the racing simulator Gran Turismo 5 in Europe.
Sony’s press conference at this years Gamescom revealed some news that we all have been waiting for a long time. The European release date for Gran Turismo 5 is set to November 3, one day after the U.S. release. Be sure to mark this date on your calendar.
Gran Turismo 5 comes with over a thousand cars, and each of them are made up of over 400 000 polygons. This is actually one hundred times as many polygons as the cars in Gran Turismo 4 consisted of. The car park is very diverse, and consists of cars from NASCAR, WRC, and Super GT. The cars can be driven at 20 authentic tracks and are including environments in familiar cities.
For the first time, we also get a damage model in the Gran Turismo series. We can also expect multiplayer for up to 16 people over the internet. The career mode is back, where the player can buy and sell cars, upgrade, decorate, and even wash the car after a messy race.
Gran Turismo 5 is coming exclusively to PlayStation 3.
