Australian police warns against pedophile networks on Facebook. Eleven people have been arrested.
In partnership with Facebook, the Australian Federal Police has revealed such a network and arrested eleven people in Australia, Britain and Canada.
- The research should serve as a warning to both those who provide social communities on the web and those who use them, said investigation leader Neil Gaughan.
Facebook has currently disabled the profiles of the suspects, but there are indications that the group will establish themselves again within a few hours.
The Australian police believe that Facebook and other social networking sites must make frequent search for materials in which children are exploited sexually and also inform the police about their findings.
