Windows Live Essentials 2011 is on its way, and now Beta 2 is available with more news, improvements and bug fixes.

The package includes programs such as Messenger (IM), Mail (e-mail), Photo Gallery (photo gallery), Movie Maker (video editing), Writer (a blog application), Sync (synchronization) and Family Safety (parental filter).

Among the news in the new beta version is the opportunity to put together multiple images in one in Photo Gallery, as well as improved Face Detection. Furthermore, it is now possible to publish videos to Flickr via Movie Maker, and it will also be possible to upload large videos to SkyDrive.

Facebook support is also being expanded, and Facebook chat is now integrated into Messenger. Currently this feature is limited to the United States, Britain, Brazil, Germany and Russia, but more countries will eventually get this support. The reason for this cautious rollout of Facebook Chat support is that it’s expected very high demand from users around the world.
