The music search service Shazam has just announced that they have entered into a partnership with Spotify. The partnership means that Spotify will be integrated into all of Shazam’s clients for iOS and Android.

Shazam is a music search service that allows the phone to listen to a song for a few seconds and then Shazam will present detailed information about the current song.

Spotify will be integrated in future versions of Shazam, so that users can do a search with Shazam then play it directly via Spotify. The new function will be made available in Spotify Premium.

“Integrating Spotify into Shazam’s applications combines music discovery with one of the world’s most popular music streaming services, providing a seamless experience for music fans at the point of inspiration in any location,” says Andrew Fisher, CEO of Shazam. “Spotify is delivering an innovative, high quality experience to music lovers and we’re excited to bring the Spotify service to Shazam.”

The integration with Spotify is currently available in the paid version of Shazam, called Shazam Encore. The integration will also be included in an update of the free version of Shazam, which will be released in the first quarter.
