Rovio Mobile has finally released Angry Birds Rio on the Android Market. Until yesterday, the game has only been available in an ad-free version exclusively from the Amazon Appstore for Android, where it can be downloaded for free for a limited time.

In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio de Janeiro, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the upcoming Fox motion picture, Rio. Angry Birds Rio will pair the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the film.

However, the Amazon Appstore is currently only available in the U.S. This means that the game has not yet been available to download for us Europeans.

But now, the highly anticipated sequel has found its way to the official Android Market. The game is free and can be downloaded here.
