While most people were engaged in watching the Royal British wedding, Facebook took the opportunity to shut down more than 30 political groups on the site. Facebook is apparently stepping into the fight against a new Tesco store in the British city of Stokes Croft in Bristol. At least they seem to do so by shutting down related groups from Facebook.

The Facebook group Bristol UK Uncut has been used to spread information about the riots that lasted for several days, but now Facebook has shut down the groups, in addition to more than 30 other groups with political content.

In the shadow of the royal wedding in the UK, the police clashed into demonstrators and occupiers in Stokes Croft.
