A lot of people expected Apple to launch iPhone 5 in Cupertino Tuesday. However, they had to settle for a slightly faster and more enduring iPhone 4S, and Siri, which is a new system for speech recognition and dialogue with the phone.

In addition, the prices of iPod Nano was cut and will be available in a white model. It was also revealed that launch of Apple’s new mobile operating system iOS 5 will be on October 12.

Oh yes… I almost forgot… The company is still working hard to roll out iCloud.

Beyond that, the new Apple boss, Tim Cook, didn’t have very much to offer. Steve Jobs already presented most of these news back in June, well before he announced his retirement.

Todays event will probably be most appreciated by Google and fans of the Android OS. Even the investors responded with surprise and sent the Apple stock down nearly 5 percent.
