According to an article today in The New York Times, the Walt Disney Company and YouTube, a division of Google, will be announcing a new partnership very soon. The cooperation aims at creating a new channel on YouTube who publishes unique content from Disney. The videos will also be available on a webpage on the Disney website.

The channel will also include amateur video culled from the torrent uploaded to YouTube daily.

“It’s imperative to go where our audience is,” said James A. Pitaro, co-president of Disney Interactive. He added that the idea is to “bring Disney’s legacy of storytelling to a new generation of families and Disney enthusiasts on the platforms they prefer.”

Only last month YouTube annonced a new web service which will offer hundreds of new channels of self-produced content.
