Microsoft has released a preview version of Internet Explorer 10 as a free download for Windows 7 users. It is not a final version, but it is a fully fuctional one. Microsoft has not yet said anything about when the final version will be released for Windows 7.

The appearance of the browser is almost identical to Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 8, but Microsoft have made several improvements. Among the most important news is better hardware acceleration, better security and support for multiple Web standards. Better support for touch screens is also in place.

You will need Windows 8, Windows RT or Windows 7 with SP1 (Service Pack 1) to use Internet Explorer 10. The browser will not be released for Windows Vista and older versions of Windows.
