Facebook has sent out press invitations for an event taking place at the company’s headquarters on March 7. The invite promises a new look for the News Feed of the social network.

“Come see a new look for News Feed,” the invite reads.

The News Feed is a central part of Facebook where all the status updates from people and business pages are displayed. The appearance has undergone a series of changes since the feature first launched in 2006.

One of the biggest complaints against the current News Feed is that users only see status updates from some of their friends. Other users have complained that there is too much “noise” in the News Feed, since it shows all the posts or pages that friends “like”.
